
Understanding Gayatri Mantra
1) Gayatri Mantra is the Mantra which fundamentally signifies that the entire creation is governed by an eternal indefinite concentrated energy force which envelopes the entire existence and any form of creation. The same can be termed as “LAW OF ATTRACTION’’. Gayatri Mantra is the solution and the only Mantra which unifies all the diversity of Energies present in the entire creation which is beyond definition.
The soul purpose of this mantra is to attract the positive life energies or forces which can solely take the Mankind of the path of liberation (Moksha)
2) It’s the VEDIC Mantra which is very auspiscious. Gayatri Mantra is also called as Savitri Mantra or Guru Mantra. The reason being THE GURU counsels the Shishya or pupil or student and advices him the Gayatri Mantra. The student follow accordingly
Its called as Savitr Mantra because it is deicated to Savitr or Lord Agni.

It is mentioned in Vedas.
in Rig Veda : once (Mandala 3 ; Sukt 62; 10th Mantra)
· in Yajur Veda: 4 times (i) Adhyaya 3rd; Shlok 35th
(ii) Adhyaya 22nd Shlok 9th
(iii) Adhyaya 3rd Shlok 2nd

4) Why is it named as Gayatri Mantra?
Gayatri is the name of the Verse also called as Chchand. There are many mantras of Veda in this Chchand. From this chchand, the greatest of the Rishis, Sages, Gyanis, Maha Rishimunis considered this mantra as very powerful and highly recommended this mantra. Thus this mantra took the name of Gayatri itself.
